Water is the essence of life. Without water there is no life. Our bodies are mostly comprised of water. It is important for hydration, energy, digestion, and overall wellness to consume adequate water.
It used to be that we had to consume 8 cups of water a day. We now know that this is an incorrect method. The best way to gauge how much you specifically need is based on your weight.
Take your weight and divide it in half. That number is the base amount that you should consume. Example: 150 lbs = 75 oz. (9.5 cups) of water.
If you are pregnant/ nursing, sick, in hot climate, and/or engage in physical activity you need to consume more water. When you get thirsty, go for the water before you go for the sugary drinks!
