When You Feel Limited In Resources

Hello Beautiful People!

If you ever feel as though you are limited in precious resources such as time, money, etc. the two traits that will help see you through are resiliency and creativity.
Believe that your current state is temporary and that anything can manifest from your situation. Creativity can help see possibilities that you may not have thought existed. Reach out to those who inspire you. Collaborate with others who share your passions.
May you have a healthy & prosperous week!

How to Make 2017 Special & Baby Has Arrived!

Happy Monday Beautiful People!

I know its been a while, but I wanted to wish you all a wonderful New Year from my family to yours. I am also excited to introduce baby Leo who made his entrance to the world during the 2016 holiday season.

As we move into the new year, let us make peace with 2016. I know it was a bit of a heavy year with many major changes but we must be hopefully. Know that everything is happening to prepare us for what it is that we focus on. This is why we want to project thoughts and desires of what we truly want, not that which we do not.

Here's to us continually striving to growth and evolution. Happy 2017!

Put Work To Ending Your Personal Sabotage

Happy Monday Beautiful People!

Self sabotage is a real casualty of achievement. It happens for many reasons. The biggest reason is often fear of the unknown. I've been guilty of this too at times. We have unlimited potential, but we have to be fearless! So let's take the rest of this year to committing to greatness, and saying no to stifling your growth.
Namaste and Happy Healthy Living! ✌

Are You OK? Time For a Check-in.

There are so many things happening in the world today. There are wonderful things and there are indeed not so great things. How are you doing? Have you made time to disconnect and just recharge? We are being inundated with information, sometimes a bit too much. Take some time to check-in and tap into how you are feeling. Give yourself an opportunity to vent in a healthy way, i.e. art, music, therapy, or any other creative outlet. You can even indulge in solitude.

If you are engaging in advocacy work or anything that requires a lot of energy from you, be sure to not give so much to the point where you are so drained that you are unable to go on. You need to be well in order to be a light to others. Take care of yourself, do not lose yourself. Stay hydrated, get sleep, try to eat healthy, and meditate. Love yourself. Don't feel guilty to give yourself the adequate care you need. Stay strong and focus on the light amid the darkness.  Namaste to you.

Happy healthy living!

The Power of Community

Happy Monday Beautiful People!

The past couple weeks have reiterated to me the importance of community. I have always know community to be essential but I think when you are placed in a vulnerable position you really get to understand the magnitude community influences your world.

Last week, while at Whole Foods Market, our son was having a nose bleed and while tending to him I literally collapsed on the ground, hit my head, and got right back up. I tried to rush out with him while still disoriented. Many people around me saw what was happening and asked me to sit down and tended to both Lucas and I. I was so shocked at how much people really cared. Often times living in NYC It's easy to think people are too preoccupied to care; but they really do. The reality is, we are not invincible. We need to understand that community is life. My advice to any mother is: embrace community, reach out to your community to get support. Sometimes our pride and ego get in the way but it is essential to know who our support systems are. Be an active giver and receiver of community. The power comes when we know we are not alone. You are not. We have each other. Stay strong along your journey.

Have you ever started a project or task and at some point in time you just wanted to pull back and give up? Does this particularly occur when you experienced some sort of setback? This happens, when life happens.

However, do not let life get in the way of your passions.

Just keep going! I have met numerous hurdles, so much to the point where sometimes I want to hide in a corner and cry.. well, not really but it does get overwhelming. Life is not perfect, but that is the exciting thing about it. We get to be creative and figure out ways to be epic amid chaos!

Keep the momentum going. Keep your focus on the prize. When you notice that you are falling behind, remind yourself how great your success will be at the end. Find daily supportive quotes, get a coach, or a support buddy to keep you motivated. Do daily progress reports for yourself. All these little tips can help you stay on top of your business. You can do it!!! Stay focused and stay positive!

When You Fall Out of Love With Your Passion

Happy Monday Beautiful People!

What happens when the passion you had for what you were doing dies out? It can happen if the work becomes work. The love may fade. This also happens in relationships. How does one overcome this hurdle? Sometimes we may never overcome it. This is where either you have to commit to regenerating sparks by reminding yourself of why you were passionate about it to begin with or just be willing to walk away for a bit. I'd say, revisit the moments and memories that kept you going initially. Surround yourself with people who have similar passions and this could potentially trigger sensory based memories. The reality is, passion is not always eternal, but you can find ways to get back or close to what fueled you in the beginning. It will require work. Anything worth having, requires worthy commitment.

Be Generous With Your Positivity

Happy Monday Beautiful People!

Positive energy is contagious. When you are feeling great about life and your personal situation, extend that flow of energy and attitude with as many people as possible. You never know how much of an impact you can make in someone's life just by making a person smile. Influence others to be happy!

Life is indeed beautiful. The key is to see the beauty amid the chaos. Sometimes the negatives blur everything positive out. It is your duty to seek out the gold; the joys. Don't let bad situations and hardships take that away.

In my book, I mention this little girl I saw at a playground. Her mother told her she had to leave in a few minutes, but instead of enjoying her last few minutes she cried the whole time. That is how many of us approach life. We pout over the bad stuff and lose site of the awesomeness.

Our job is to stay focused on our dreams, be beauty seekers, and share that wealth of joy!

Transform Your Complaints Into Actions

Happy Monday Beautiful People!

IMG_1382.JPG

We are all guilty of complaining at times, but we clearly know it does not resolve anything unless we take some action. Some of us are chronic complainers, we complain if the person next to us takes a breath!

Excessive complaining doesn't resolve anything. Taking action and implementing new practices, procedures, and even suggestions can make a world of a difference. Be about your word. Shift your energy toward making a significant impact by spreading creative, innovative, and inspirational ideas.

Complain less, do more! Be a problem solver. Innovation occurs when people get so frustrated they go out and just get stuff done.

Top 3 Signs You're Working The Wrong Job

Happy Monday Beautiful People!!

Working a job that does not bring you joy can be emotional, mentally, and physically draining. However, many of us still continue the torture. Here are some key signs that your job might not be the right one for you.

1. You Constantly Watch The Clock.

Watching the clock constantly while working, is a good indicator that you might be working a job that is not for you. Every second of every day should be appreciated not wished away. When you fall in love with what you do, you don't wish for time to pass, rather you seek as much time as possible to do more of what you love.

2. You Never Feel Compensated Enough.

If you feel like whatever you get from your job isn't enough to compensate for what you do, then perhaps you need a career change. People who love their work get joy from what they do, monetary compensation is just the icing on the cake for them. If you are working just for a paycheck and there are no intrinsic rewards, then you might want to consider a career change.

3. While At Work, You Often Dream Of Doing Something Else.

This is definitely a major indicator that your heart is not in what you do. If your heart is set on something else, you should try and pursue that something else. Regret is one of the worst feelings of life. If you don't pursue what tugs at heart strings, you might regret it. Pursue your dream, as impractical or as impossible as it may seem. Create a plan to start doing what you love while still working your day job. Give it your all and NEVER give up, even when it starts to kick your butt! The challenges will make the pursuit more exciting.

Always do your best, even while you're at the job that you dislike. Stay positive and focused on your dreams. The rewards will eventually come.

"There are many things in life that will catch your eye, but only a few will catch your heart. Pursue these." -Michael Nolan

Stay in the state of gratitude. Be open to giving and receiving!

Don't Let The Competition Scare You Away

Happy Monday Beautiful People!

The competition exists. There is competition in everything we do. We are competing for clean air, even clean water! Don't let the idea of competition scare you from taking the leap into a career that you dream and desire so badly. I hear "the industry is oversaturated" or "its too competitive to even try" so often it saddens me.
Commit to giving so much of your talent that you become the leader. You set the tone for the culture of that industry. Nothing is impossible.
Be willing to collaborate. Be willing to use the competition as a useful tool.
Be great in whatever you do. No job is to insignificant.

Make No Assumptions, Get To Know Someone Better

Happy Monday Beautiful People!!

This week challenge yourself not to make ANY assumptions. Get to know both people you already know and strangers a little bit better. Be objective, open, and judgment free. You never know what you might learn. Speak less, listen more! You never know what people are going through. Be open to learning more. Allow yourself to be culturally competent. Don't operate from stereotypes. That is an inaccurate guide to "knowing people". See the beauty in everyone.
